Phi Phacts

Everything you ever needed and wanted (or didn't want) to know about AEPhi.

Our open motto (which can be seen at the very top of the page): "Multa Corda, Una Causa," or "Many hearts, one purpose."

Our tag line: Above all else.

Our mascot: Giraffe...why? It has the biggest heart and stands above the rest (corny, but it works for us!)

Our Gem: Pearl...why? It starts out as a grain of sand, and turns into something beautiful.

Our Flower: Lily of the Valley

Our crest and logo: The three columns stand for faculty approval, student esteem, and sorority fidelity.
Our two philanthropies are Sharsheret and Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Each year, the sisters of AEPhi work long and hard to put on two different philanthropy events. One is in the fall, PhiStock, and one is in the spring, A PHIne Affair. All of the events' proceeds go to these two philanthropies. Last year, AEPhi at BU raised over $3000 total to donate. In addition to the two main events, the sisters also host other, smaller ones. This past October, AEPhi teamed up with LF for an event. "Fight With Fashion" was a benefit trunk show and a portion of its proceeds went to Sharsheret. In a few days, AEPhi will be hosting "Manicure for Sharsheret," where professional manicurists will come to the George Sherman Union and give $10 manicures (cheap!!). Of course, these proceeds will also go to Sharsheret.

Along with their own philanthropy events, the sisters of AEPhi are encouraged to attend other Greek events and try to support their fellow sororities and fraternities by attending as many as they can. But what if you're not Greek and you're putting on an event? AEPhi obviously doesn't care about you, right? Wrong! The sisters are extremely active in non-Greek aspects of BU. We have girls that a part of singing groups, student government, business fraternities, sports, and extra-curricular clubs. Many girls also have jobs and internships. The sisters of AEPhi are as passionate about their sorority as they are about their school work. The minimum GPA is a 2.7. If a girl is struggling in a class, she knows she can look to 119 friends that are ready and willing to help.

Peace. Love. AEPhi.
